About me
Sabina Khan-Ibarra is a Pakistani Pashtun American writer, poet, and educator with an MFA from SFSU. Her writing, which often reflects on her Pashtun heritage and its geopolitical implications, has been featured in publications such as Rising Phoenix, Panoplyzine, Anomaly Literary Journal, and more. She has received numerous fellowships and the Wilmer Award. Sabina serves as the Co-Director of Rooted & Written, an initiative to support Writers of Color. She teaches at The Writers Grotto and LitQuake. Sabina is currently working on her novel, The Poppy Flower, and a poetry book titled A New Vocabulary, and has been named a semifinalist in the University of Wisconsin's poetry contest and for the 2024 Philip Levine Prize for Poetry.
